Preparing for a show down over the poker tables

The showdown is an instance in poker where there is more than one player in the final round of betting and their hands need to be exposed face up over the poker tables so as to compare them and determine the highest hand who would be declared as the final winner and would simultaneously be entitled to be the winner of the pot. If there is only one player left in the final round then he is obviously the winner and a showdown wouldn’t be necessary in such cases.

The hands are compared to the preset hand rankings and the best hand is determined according to the ranking system and the highest value is declared the winner with comparison to the hands present in the show down over the poker table. The showdown is usually done after the betting round in river and the players decide among themselves that they compare each others hand to find out who the actual winners are. Usually the showdown begins with the players seated towards the left of the dealer and continues clockwise.
